How the card is built, and what it leaves out
- Numbers come from SEC financial data and company filings. Every cell is labelled Reported (stated by the company) or Calculated (worked out by us from reported figures) and links to its source.
- Competitor view sets two companies side by side and marks who leads on each number. Peers view ranks one company against up to 10 peers on the same numbers. Leave peers blank for our default peer set.
- Pressure points follow fixed rules, for example revenue growth falling by 3 points or more. Events come from 8-K filings in the last 180 days. Stopped reporting compares line items against filings from a year earlier.
- Pricing moves come from public pricing pages and Internet Archive copies.
- Left out on purpose: positioning, win/loss reasons and advice on how to beat anyone.
Battlecard and Compare used to be two tools. They're one now. Why we merged them.
