How pages are read, and what counts as a change
We read each page in up to three ways: directly; through a rendering service for pages that need JavaScript; and from the Internet Archive if the site blocks readers. The result always says which one was used. If none works, you’ll be asked to paste the page text — select all on the page, copy, paste.
- Counts as a change: a plan’s price moved, a plan appeared or disappeared, a price was replaced by “Contact sales” (or the reverse), a usage charge appeared, the free plan or free trial came or went.
- Ignored: wording, layout and feature-list edits where every price stays the same.
- Usage charges (e.g. $0.30 per conversation) are tracked separately from plan prices, so they never look like a price cut.
- Prices shown only inside images can’t be read. Check anything important on the live page before acting on it.
- Your list of pages and past checks are saved in this browser only. “Forget saved pages and history” deletes them.
