Every competitive intelligence tool on the market triggers on the same thing: someone's website changed, or a journalist wrote something. Both are downstream. The 8-K is the upstream event, it is timestamped by a regulator, and it is public the moment it is accepted.

This reads SEC's own live feed and filters it against the 104 CIKs we can route with certainty. It is not a news product and it does not summarise anything — it tells you a document exists and hands you the document.

What this is not

It is not an alert There is no account, no server and no cron job here, so nothing can push to you. The feed loads when you open the page. Push delivery needs a backend, and a backend is a decision that has not been made.
It does not read the filing The form type and the filer are all this knows. Whether an 8-K contains an acquisition or a change of auditor requires opening it, and opening it is the link.
It is US filers only EDGAR is a US regulator. A European or Indian competitor files somewhere else or nowhere, and no amount of this helps you there.
The feed is SEC's, not ours If SEC's endpoint is slow or the relay fails, this page says so rather than showing yesterday's cache and letting you assume it is live.

The filter is only as useful as the list behind it. If a company you compete with files and isn't in the 104, that's the most useful reply you can send.
